Captured 11/01/12 as a result of charges for Nonsupport of a Dependent Child

UPDATE:

 Following an anonymous tip received by the Sheriff's Office, Steven L. Hayes was taken into custody by Bartholomew County Sheriff Officers without incident on November 1, 2012.  He is currently being held at the Bartholomew County Jail.

Steven L. Hayes is wanted by the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office and charged with Nonsupport of a Dependent Child. 

In 1999, Steven Hayes was ordered by Jennings County Superior Court to pay child support for his dependent children.  Since that time, Steven Hayes has knowingly refused to comply with the court's order.  As a result, Mr. Hayes has failed to pay in excess of $43,000 in court ordered child support.

Hayes' charge of Nonsupport of a Dependent Child is a class C felony, which is punishable by a maximum of 8 years in the Indiana Department of Correction.

Hayes is described as a Caucasian male, 49 years of age, 5’8” tall, 155 pounds, Brown & Gray Hair, and Blue eyes.  We believe that Steven Hayes is in the Bartholomew County Area.
