Captain Dave Steinkoenig
supervises the Support Division and coordinates training for the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office.
Captain Dave Steinkoenig is a long-time resident of Bartholomew County, growing up in Columbus and graduating from Columbus North High School in 1999. Captain Steinkoenig is a United State Air Force Veteran.
Dave Steinkoenig joined the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office in 2003 and graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in February 2004. Captain Steinkoenig has served on the Road Division, Detective Division, and was a Sergeant in the Narcotics Division for seven years. Captain Steinkoenig is a Certified Instructor through the Law Enforcement Training Board, a Firearms Instructor, Taser Instructor, Police Marksman, and is Clan Lab Certified. Captain Steinkoenig is a Field Training Officer. He is also a member of the Bartholomew County Substance Abuse Council and a member of the Dive Team and the Water Rescue Team.
Captain Dave Steinkoenig and his staff handle Hiring Processes, Civil Process, Warrants, Gun Permits, Random Drug Testing, Sex and Violent Offender Registry for Bartholomew County, Drug Abuse Resistance Program (D.A.R.E.), and all Department Training.
