Captain Rob Kittle is a long time resident of Bartholomew County, growing up in Columbus and graduating from Columbus East High School in 1977. After high school, he attended Indiana University where he majored in Business Administration and Forensic Studies, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1981. He is also a 1982 graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.
Captain Kittle has over 27 years of Law Enforcement experience. He joined the Columbus Police Department in 1982 where he served as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Sergeant, Firearms Instructor, Public Information Officer and Captain. In 2001, Captain Kittle joined the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office and currently serves as Commander of the Support Division and Training Coordinator. He has also worked as a Patrol Officer, Detective, Deputy Jail Commander, and Public Information Officer as Lieutenant.
Captain Rob Kittle and his staff work with the Bartholomew County Reserve Deputy Program, Civil Process, Drug Abuse Resistance Program (D.A.R.E.), Gun Permits, Random Drug Testing, Sex and Violent Offender Registry for Bartholomew County, Training, and Warrants.
