How do I apply for a passport?
Effective January 31, 2013 the Bartholomew County Clerk's Office will no longer process applications. All passports submissions may be presented to the Columbus Post Office for processing or through USPS.com.
How do I apply for a marriage license?
A marriage license application can be filled out in the Clerk's Office and costs $18.00 for Indiana residents or $60.00 for out of state residents. You will need a driver's license or some form of identification.
How long will my marriage license last once filed?
A marriage license is valid for 60 days from the time it is recieved. After the 60 days the license expires and will need to be reissued.
Where do I file a small claim?
The small claim starts in the Superior Court II located on the third floor of the courthouse. You will need a good address for the person(s) you are suing so that they can be notified of the claim. For detailing of court cost clerk here.
Where do I pay a traffic ticket?
The Clerk's Office collects fines for all traffic tickets. Cash only for tickets not exceeding $755.00.
Where do I register to vote?
In the voter's registration office on the first floor of the courthouse, the first door across from the security station.
How do I register to vote?
There are three ways you can register to vote. First, you can come into the Voter Registration office located on the first floor of the courthouse, directly across from the security station. Second, you may register online here. Third, you can download a Voter Registration Application (VRG-7) and mail it to:

How do I verify my voter registration?
You can verify your registration online here by providing your first and last name, county and date of birth. You may also come into the office or call 379-1604.
Does Indiana have a Voter ID Policy?
Yes, Indiana does require you to show your ID before being able to vote. State information can be located here.
